Hell... how can you window folks use your computer.
I was reactivating my scanner today so i was forced to boot into windows (yeah, scanning still sucks under linux).
Damn it, no multiple desktops, no easy kbd shortcuts, hd running all the time, no shell .... i can go on forever.
So, after a few test-scans i think i need a few more test-scans to figure things out.
If you celebrate x-mas... have a nice one.
I'm planning to do a few updates the next days.

welcome back! one of the best scan-masters around ... and a linux user!!! (like me) :)
unfortunately looks you have to boot windows to use your scanner ... I did a fast search and looks your epson perfection 1200 is fully supported, did you updated your sane to the last version?

another option could be to use wine (emulator) or even a virtual machine to avoid to be without linux (I know it's a pain not to be able to use it)

as for the scans ... they look good as always ... probably better at higher resolution for may taste ... speaking of the scans, are liberty pussy lips censored on the mag?

i've tried the SANE backend serveral times over the past years but i was never satisfied with the results in combination with the available frontends.
The windows epson-scan tool does a great job on reducing moire-effects from the raw scans.
i've installed an virtual-box machine with USB support - so i can use windows while staying in linux... kinda best of both worlds :-)
